Free DAT PAT practice, as much as you want
7,200 Perceptual Ability Test questions across all six sections. Every answer is checked by an independent solver, and every question comes with an explanation.
No account needed. Works on your phone.
All six PAT sections
The real test has 90 questions in 60 minutes, 15 of each type.
Built to be right
Checked twice. Every question is generated, then solved again by a separate checker using a different method. It only ships if that checker finds exactly one correct answer.
No unfair distractors. On top-front-end, a logic solver proves that no object could produce any of the wrong views, so you're never marked wrong for a defensible answer.
Practice like test day. Use adaptive difficulty, 40-second sprints at test pace, a daily challenge with a leaderboard, and a full 90-question simulation on a 60-minute clock.
Questions
What is the DAT Perceptual Ability Test (PAT)?
The PAT is the spatial reasoning section of the Dental Admission Test. It has 90 questions in 60 minutes, 15 in each of six question types: keyholes, top-front-end, angle ranking, hole punching, cube counting and pattern folding.
Is PAT Grind free?
Yes. Practice, the daily challenge and full-length timed tests are all free, and you don't need an account. An account only adds syncing between devices and the leaderboards.
How many practice questions are there?
There are 7,200 questions, 1,200 per section across three difficulty levels. Adaptive practice adjusts the difficulty to how you're doing.
How do you know the answers are right?
Each question is generated by a geometry engine and then solved again by a separate checker that uses a different method. A question is kept only if the checker finds exactly one correct answer and agrees with the key. For top-front-end, a logic solver also proves that no object could produce any of the wrong options.
How long should I spend on each PAT question?
The real test allows 60 minutes for 90 questions, so about 40 seconds each. Sprint mode times every question at that pace, and the full simulation runs the whole 60-minute clock.
Can I practice on my phone?
Yes, PAT Grind is built for phones. Add it to your home screen and it opens full screen like an app.
PAT Grind is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the American Dental Association, which administers the Dental Admission Test (DAT).
